I · Pool water is not only about clarity

Clear water can still hide operational, chemical and economic problems. The solution must connect water quality with pool operation.

Pool water quality is created by the interaction of hydraulics, temperature, visitor load, filtration, chemistry and air quality.

A visible pool surface tells only part of the story. Fresh-water consumption, backwash losses, heating demand, combined chlorine, microbiological stability and the burden placed on ventilation all influence the real quality and cost of the operation.

Hydraulic reality

Flow and circulation

Pool volume, circulation rate, filter loading and backwash frequency determine how the complete system behaves.

Chemical balance

Free and combined chlorine

Disinfection performance must be assessed together with chloramines, odour, irritation and disinfection by-products.

Microbiological stability

Visitor load and temperature

Warm water, high occupancy and complex pool zones create demanding conditions for microbial control.

Operating economy

Water and energy losses

Every cubic metre discharged also represents lost heat, treatment chemistry and wastewater capacity.

II · Complete pool and wellness portfolio

One water environment. Six specialised treatment solutions.

The right configuration is selected according to the actual operating problem. The technologies can be applied independently or combined within one treatment concept.

01 / Backwash-water recovery

ACPool

Recovery of water from sand-filter backwashing

ACPool treats backwash water that would normally be discharged and returns an appropriate share to the pool-water process under controlled operating conditions.

The concept is designed around the backwash-water volume, current filtration system, suspended load and required return-water quality.

Main benefit: lower fresh-water consumption, reduced wastewater volume and recovery of previously lost water.

02 / Sustainable pool operation

ACPool NEW

A new model for water, heat and chemical management

ACPool NEW develops the recovery concept into a broader operating model focused on reducing unnecessary water replacement, heating demand, chemical consumption and wastewater production.

It evaluates the interaction between pool circulation, backwash water, treatment stages, water quality and the real cost of the complete operation.

Main benefit: coordinated savings in water, energy and chemicals instead of isolated optimisation.

03 / Combined chlorine reduction

ACDeC

Catalytic reduction of chloramines

The typical pool smell is often associated with combined chlorine and chloramines rather than with free chlorine itself.

ACDeC uses the catalytic properties of the ART CARBON platform to support the reduction of combined chlorine within a complete pool-water treatment concept.

Main benefit: less odour, reduced irritation and a more comfortable environment for swimmers and staff.

04 / Warm-water stability

ACDeC Whirlpool

Treatment support for microbiologically demanding zones

Whirlpools, hot tubs, therapy pools and children’s pools operate under demanding conditions with higher temperatures, smaller water volumes and faster microbiological changes.

ACDeC Whirlpool is configured specifically for these sensitive warm-water environments.

Main benefit: safer and more stable operation in pool zones with high temperature and concentrated visitor load.

05 / Advanced chemical control

ACCLO

Targeted control of problematic disinfection by-products

ACCLO is an optional advanced treatment module for operations where water analysis identifies problematic chlorates, perchlorates, nitrites or related parameters requiring targeted intervention.

The configuration is based on chemical analysis, the existing disinfection method and the operating conditions of the individual pool.

Main benefit: a targeted response to chemical parameters that cannot be solved by routine dosing adjustments alone.

06 / Residential pools

ACDeC Home

Compact water-quality support for private pools

ACDeC Home transfers the principles of advanced pool-water treatment into a compact configuration suitable for private, residential and smaller wellness installations.

The objective is to support more stable water quality, lower chloramine burden and a more pleasant swimming environment.

Main benefit: professional water-quality principles adapted to smaller private pool systems.

III · Start with the operating problem

The operator does not need to know the product name. The water tells us which function is required.

Technology selection begins with the real pool operation, measured water parameters and the result the operator needs to achieve.

Problem 01

We discharge too much backwash water.

High filter-backwash volumes increase fresh-water consumption, wastewater discharge and the loss of previously heated water.

Relevant solutions: ACPool or ACPool NEW — describe your backwash volume
Problem 02

We have pool odour, irritation or high combined chlorine.

Chloramines affect swimmers, staff, indoor air quality and the overall perception of the pool environment.

Relevant solution: ACDeC — describe the chlorine problem
Problem 03

We operate whirlpools or warm-water zones.

Higher temperatures and smaller water volumes require faster and more stable control of microbiological and chemical conditions.

Relevant solution: ACDeC Whirlpool — describe your warm-water zone
Problem 04

We need targeted control of disinfection by-products.

Routine adjustment of disinfectant dosing may not resolve chlorates, perchlorates, nitrites or other persistent chemical parameters.

Relevant solution: ACCLO — describe the measured parameter
Problem 05

Our pool consumes too much water, heat and chemistry.

Individual savings measures may fail when water, energy and chemical operation are assessed separately.

Relevant solution: ACPool NEW — describe your operating costs
Problem 06

We need better water quality in a private pool.

Smaller residential systems require a compact solution adapted to lower flows, limited technical space and private operation.

Relevant solution: ACDeC Home — describe your private pool
IV · Water, heat and chemistry

The most expensive water is the water you heat, chemically treat — and then send to drain.

Water quality and operational economy must be designed together.

Pool economics are strongly influenced by the volume of fresh water, the energy required to heat it, the treatment chemicals added to it and the amount finally discharged as wastewater.

  • 01 Lower consumption of fresh make-up water
  • 02 Reduced heat demand for replacement water
  • 03 Lower wastewater and sewerage burden
  • 04 Reduced chemical consumption through a more stable water cycle
  • 05 Lower chloramine load and reduced stress on ventilation
  • 06 Better visitor comfort and stronger operating credibility
V · Proof instead of promises

Pool-water decisions should be supported by measured operating results.

Performance depends on pool type, visitor load, hydraulic conditions, temperature, existing filtration and the exact treatment configuration.

78–79%

Backwash-water recovery

Referenced pool installations demonstrated recovery of a substantial share of filter-backwash water for return to the operating water cycle.

< 0.3

Combined chlorine target

ACDeC treatment concepts are designed to support low combined chlorine levels, subject to the complete pool-water conditions.

0.234

Referenced ACDeC result

Available operating data from a children’s pool recorded an average combined-chlorine value of 0.234 mg/l with ACDeC.

0.316

Referenced UV comparison

The referenced comparison recorded an average combined-chlorine value of 0.316 mg/l during UV-only operation.

Detailed operating data, water analyses and technical documentation can be provided during project assessment. Final performance is defined for the individual pool operation.

VI · We do not start with technology

We start with the pool operation. The right solution is designed around the real pool.

Before proposing a technology, we assess the hydraulic, chemical, microbiological and economic reality of the operation.

01 / Describe

Define the pool operation

Type of pool, water volume, temperature, visitor load, opening hours and the number of individual water zones.

02 / Measure

Review water and operating data

Free and combined chlorine, microbiology, chemical analysis, circulation, backwash frequency and make-up water consumption.

03 / Calculate

Establish the economic baseline

Water costs, heating demand, chemical consumption, wastewater costs, service interventions and ventilation burden.

04 / Design

Select the treatment configuration

ACPool, ACPool NEW, ACDeC, ACDeC Whirlpool, ACCLO, ACDeC Home or an application-specific combination.

Describe your pool — we define the treatment
VII · Contacts / Get in Touch

Start with the pool operation. We will define the treatment and saving potential.

Send the pool type, water volume, temperature, visitor load, backwash volume, make-up water consumption, heating costs, chemical costs, combined-chlorine values and the available water analysis.
